I case you didn’t know, OVGE (short for Oklahoma Video Game Exhibition) is a once-a-year event where people can come get together, play some old games, buy some awesome stuff, and just have loads of fun.
This year’s OVGE was just as good, if not better than, last year’s.
We had the usual Classic Gaming Tournament hosted by Jesse (the creator of OVGE), Retro Gamer T-Shirts (the best shirts ever made!), lots and lots of salesmen, Nintendo Okie asking trivia and giving away games (I won a copy of Dream Trigger 3D, and they even let me be on their podcast), another Bad Game Beat Down hosted by Greg Little, arcade machines, three Pinball machines and a lot more.
The three Pinball machine that were brought this year were; Star Trek Next Gen Pinball, the Super Mario Pinball machine and The Addam’s Family. The poor Addam’s Family machine broke before the show even started, its problem was that it couldn’t get enough power, so pushing all for flippers would break it. Unlike last year, the Mario Pinball machine was not the only one working by the end of the show, the Star Trek Pinball machine worked fine the whole show.
For the Bad Game Beat Down 2 (a tournament where you have to play… bad games), Greg had us playing “Rise of the Robots”, and gosh it was awful (in a good way), even worse then Shaq-Fu. Sadly, I couldn’t make it past the second round.
There was a lot of other great stuff, too. I got an awesome Luigi’s Manson painting by Meg, Sonic Generations (XBOX 360), a Pac-Man energy drink (right when I needed it), a Shadow The Hedgehog action figure, and a TON of Streetpasses on my 3DS.
OVGE 2012 was great overall. If I had to it sum up in 3 words, it would undoubtingly be “heaven on Earth”. I can’t wait untill next year.

If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted anything for a (very) long time, here is your answer. I’ve been spending waaaaaaaaaay too much time making a bunch of Super Mario Flash levels. I hope you enjoy them!
(For those of you wondering why I’m always updating this post, it’s so I have a convenient spot for backgrounds on my Pouetpu Games.com account, also, one of the pics in this post broke my blog.)
Geuss what? I’ve got 300 site views! Yay! I didn’t think that this silly little blog would get that many views so soon…
Well, here’s a little treat for you guys, then. Thanks!
I know I didn’t make the pic myself, but I had to put it in because it was so cool.
Next milestone: 500 views.
*EDIT* I’m sorry for getting the title wrong. The game is really called “Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure” not “Spyro: Skylanders adventure. I humbly await my punishment. *END OF EDIT*
Y’know that “Spyro: Skylanders Adverture” game where you put those little action figures for the game the “Portal of Power” thing? I have it for 3DS and Wii. The 3DS game is ok, but the Wii game is great. So great apparently, that Activision is making a sequel which is called “Skylanders: Giants”. It plays about the same as the first game, but adds some new Skylanders and giants. Besides being much larger than the normal Skylanders, the giants also are much more powerful and (probably) slower. They also can smash through gates that normal Skylanders wouldn’t be able to break or would need a key to open. And although the giants are probably going to have to be crammed onto the Portal of Power, you can indeed have two giants tearing apart the stage at once.
There are some neat little touches when you play with the giants, to. The objects on the screen (like barrels) will often bounce around as the giants walk on the ground, and the enemies, unlike the first game, have gotten somewhat smart, as they know when they are outmatched when a giant drops in, and will ether run back and regroup with their friends, or, try to hide from the giants in a corner.
Oh, and don’t worry, all of the Skylander figures from the first game are compatible with this one, meaning you won’t have to buy them again for this one.
So as I said, the new Skylanders game looks awesome. Let’s just hope that Dark Spyro (AKA, The Awesomest) is included with the game.

I was browsing the eShop on my 3DS yesterday, and I found out that one of the ambassador games I got for free because I got a 3DS before the price drop was now out in the eShop, and that game was Super Mario Bros. The description for that game kind of worried me. It said something like “There’s trouble in Mushroom Kingdom! The evil Bowser has turned all the inhabitants into grass, clouds and blocks of bricks! Only princess Peach can undo the spell, but she’s been captured by Bowser…”. Let me repeat that, Bowser has turned all the inhabitants into blocks of bricks. Uh, Mario destroys blocks of bricks all the time, so… Is he killing a Toad every time he does that? Here is the photographic proof (left):
So IS Mario guilty of murder? I think so (I can’t belive I just said that!). What about you?
(Sorry about the really bad quality of the picture, I snapped it with my camera.)
It’s a undeniable fact that everyone in the world has an evil doppelganger (or if you’re an evil person, you have a good doppelganger), Chris Hoffman of Nintendo Power has Liquid Hoff, Mario has Wario, Luigi has Waluigi, Link has Shadow Link, Zelda has Zelduh, Maxwell has Nega-Max, Sonic has Evil Sonic/Scrooge (but only in the comics) and Sonick, Tony Miller of Nintendo Okie.com has Toe-knee, I could go on and on. I just found my doppelganger today.[Left]
Yes, that’s him. He’s the result of a failed attempt at copying myself and putting the copy into a video game. We’re identical except that his skin is grey-ish, he has green, glowing eyes, has white blood, has pure black hair and speaks with a (heavy) Scottish accent. He’s always trying to put me in a bad light, posts a lot of spam comments and is a hacker.
So I’m just telling you, if you see comments like “asdfasdfasdf” or “blahblahblahblah” from me, it’s probably just him hacked into my account.
What about you? Do you have a evil doppelganger, to? If so. please tell us in the comments.
Oh, and Shadow Gameanater? If your reading this, I’ll never forgive you for World 4-3 on New SMB Wii…
They were both released on Friday 18th, which marks the first time a Mario and Zelda title have released on the same day.
First up: Super Mario 3D Land. I love this game already. I’ve only played the demo version, but it was great. The few stages I played where excellent. And the 3D effects are the best I’ve seen on the 3DS so far. And the Tanooki suit returns from SMB3!
Next up is Skyward Sword. As Jesse said, “To say this game is much-anticipated would be an understatement.” It was first shown when the Wii launched (2006), was named in 2010, and has now arrived to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. It comes with a sound track CD and golden Wiimote Plus( the Wiimote is only colored gold and does not contain any special metal). I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of fist fights over copies of this game some great sales for this game.
However, I probably won’t play the full versions of ether games until after christmas, so don’t expect a review of them until after.
Also, Nintendo Okie just did a Go-Round of Skyward Sword! Because there are so many long cut-scenes in the first part of the game, they decided to just play the game for an hour, then put the best parts into a 15 min video.
